North Forest Beach Neighborhood
Quiet, peaceful, but still in the heart of it all...
With
the best shoreline on Hilton Head Island, North Forest Beach neighborhood
offers beautiful oceanfront and ocean-oriented homes along a quiet
stretch of streets north of the heart of the community. The area
consists of a one-mile stretch of beachfront land that begins
at Coligney Plaza and runs north to the Crowne Plaza Resort in
Shipyard Plantation. This neighborhood is perfect for the family
or traveling group that wants privacy, but also wants to be just
around the corner from shops, restaurants, and things to do.
North Forest Beach is where many of Hilton Head's earliest vacation
rentals were located, but now nearly every home has been either
renovated or torn-down and rebuilt. The streets have been renamed
for birds like Dove, Lark, or Avocet. The neighborhood is scattered
with full-time residents and vacationers alike.
You and your guests can feel safe in the neighborhood and not worry
about letting your kids run off and enjoy themselves. The neighborhood
has one of the lowest crime-rates on the island and is home to a
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Coligney Plaza, which many consider "downtown" Hilton
Head, is just a ten minute walk from our home and offers the activities
that you and your guests want to enjoy. With nearly 60 wonderful
shops, restaurants, nightlife, and activities it is the perfect
spot to spend your time off the beach enjoying what Hilton Head
Island has to offer.
We
recommend trying Camp Hilton Head for wonderful island t-shirts
to take home with you. Steamer's Seafood and Raw Bar for dinner,
and Rita's Italian Ice for an afternoon treat to cool you down after
a hot day at the beach. The plaza also features a grocery store,
small theater, and Internet Café.
Other activities in close proximity include miniature golf, a water
park, bicycle rentals and everyday convenience stores. If you have
golf lovers in your group, there are plenty of golf courses within
a 10 minute drive.
